Tiny Modular Log Cabin on a Permanent Foundation

We saw this small log cabin Sunday while we were driving around. I’m not positive, but it looks like one of the Green River Cabins like my friends parents live in.

Adding an Addition to a Tiny Log Cabin >

On Green River Log Cabin’s website they recommend their 12′ x 34′ Top Line model.

If you are looking for a tiny house on a foundation, that would meet building code, but don’t want to go any larger the Top-Line 1 Bedroom will work. This is built on the same platform as our RV cabins just to code.

You can extend the length to a 44′ by adding a 10′ porch.

Maybe not tiny, but this is a very small log cabin

The house is right off the road on a tiny lot. After my friends parents shoe horned the tiny cabin into her back yard, they closed the loophole. Now we can’t have anything that is not permanent in this area, so here is how it looks when you put a tiny modular log cabin onto a permanent block foundation.

You need to find out what is required where you live.  Every county is different. You can find out what your area requires from your counties Building Inspection Department.

Any required building permits, site work, including foundation or footers (modulars), septic, well or municipal water hookup, electric and any other utilities are the responsibility of the cabin purchaser.

Green River Log Cabins come with a Mitsubishi Mini-split heat pump. That looks like it could be the outdoor unit of a heat pump.

Small Log Cabin
Small Log Cabin

Assuming it is a Green River Log Cabins, it is the most basic model. So this is a good example of what one can look like without adding any options.

This is a Porch on Frame. You can also have a porch built onto the log cabin instead.

This looks like Rosewood or maybe Gunstock stain. There are five standard outside stain colors; Rosewood is the reddest, then Gunstock and Prairie Sunset. Saddle is quite golden and Smokey Mountain Mist is a darker brown grey shade.

These are the standard log rails porch railings. Green River Log cabins has upgrades, different kinds of rails or they can screen in the porch.

The floor plans on their website have different porch size options. Or you can add a porch to plans that don’t include one.

The metal roof is standard too. This looks like Forest Green. The roof also comes in Barn Red, Burnished Slate, Galvalume (which looks galvanized), Cranberry and Light Stone. There are other colors available as upgrades.

The setting is just beautiful. The log cabin is near a lake, right off one of the streams that feeds it.

I’ve been driving by these cabins for years. I’ve been there a few times to look. My friend’s parents bought one and put it behind her house, two houses from me.

I really really like them. They are made beautifully, not just stapled together like a lot of things I’ve looked at. And no, they don’t pay me. The only person that pays me on this Blog is Google and every once in a while Amazon.
