I filled out the form to download a PDF with more information and I read everything. As soon as they opened, I went down to see the model&#8230; <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.projectsmallhouse.com\/blog\/2017\/07\/building-our-new-schumacher-home-explore\/\">Our Explore Process &gt;<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Customize: 2 \u2013 6 Weeks<\/h2>\n<p>From home we looked at all of the floor plans, chose one and started to make modifications. We met with a man that took our modifications and gave us a price for each one. We got a little carried away and added about 100 thousand dollars in modifications&#8230; <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.projectsmallhouse.com\/blog\/2017\/07\/building-our-new-schumacher-home-customize\/\">Our Customize Process &gt;<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Finalize: 6 \u2013 8 Weeks<\/h2>\n<p>We ended up modifying the floor plans, changing window locations, removing some walls and cabinets and adding a carport. We worked with two people at this stage&#8230; <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.projectsmallhouse.com\/blog\/2017\/08\/building-our-new-schumacher-home-finalize\/\">Our Finalize Process &gt;<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Build: 21 \u2013 25 Weeks<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Grading and Site Preparation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Schumacher Homes website says; \u201cThere are varying degrees of homesite preparation necessary depending on your building location. It may be as simple as scraping the topsoil and vegetation or a more extensive excavation. Clearing or grading may also be necessary before we can begin construction.
