Through a secret bookcase door. If you want a secret door to your hidden lair, you can build one yourself with a kit or parts from Murphy Doors.<\/p>\n

The Murphy Door Company makes doors that are also fully functional shelves or cabinets. There are three different kinds; Single, Double or French, and Surface Mount Bifold.<\/p>\n

The Single and Double Murphy Doors are recessed into the wall like a standard door. They can swing left or right and the shelves can be on the inside or the outside.<\/p>\n

The Surface Mount Bifold Murphy Doors look like a built-in wall unit, but they fold out in the middle to reveal a doorway behind the shelves.<\/p>\n

Single doors can replace an existing door. A state-of-the-art ball bearing design allows the shelves to open smoothly.\u00a0 They come in standard door sizes, from 24″ to 36″ wide.<\/p>\n

Double Murphy Doors<\/h2>\n

Double doors are available in standard door sizes from 48″ to 84″ wide. They can replace double doors or be framed into any doorway or archway.<\/p>\n

Both the single and double flush mount installed doors are available in primed or pre-painted paint grade or unfinished or pre-stained hardwood veneer with a plywood core or hardwood veneer with MDF engineered core.<\/p>\n

Plywood core is constructed by gluing and compressing layers of thin wood together in a crisscross pattern.<\/p>\n

MDF core is made from recycled hardwood, which is ground into a sawdust and mixed with a resin and compressed together. MDF core much harder, more durable and less susceptible to moisture than a plywood core.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
