The roof line is low. Some residential zoning areas have limits on building height, so the roof of the Backyard Farmhouse stays under 20-feet high.<\/p>\n

The plans can be altered to have a higher ceiling if your zoning allows.<\/p>\n

The stairs are in the center of the house, like a traditional farmhouse.There is enough room for a laundry room under the stairs.<\/p>\n

The living room has a door. This way the room can be closed off to use as a guest room.<\/p>\n

A traditional farmhouse would have been more likely to have a doorway to the kitchen, too. The more open floor plan is more current.<\/p>\n
