Deer Run Cabins sells prefab modular cabins, cabin shells, and kits to build your own cabin. They are not built from stacked logs like Blue Ridge Log Cabins. They are built using SIPs, Structural Integrated Panels.<\/p>\n

SIPs are made of a layer of insulation sandwiched between two layers of structural boards, which provide superior insulation and structural support compared to traditional framing methods. Additionally, SIPs are lightweight and easy to assemble, which can save time and labor costs during the construction process. The websites offer a lot of options and give prices on cabins from 14\u2032 x 28\u2032 to 14\u2032 x 52\u2032. They all break down to $129 a square foot. I emailed and was told that these prices are still accurate. I also confirmed that they are pre-built modular cabins that are approved for our local building code.<\/p>\n

A 14×48 Bear model looks like a really practical layout. It ticks a lot of the boxes on the wish list. There is space for a washer and dryer to be side-by-side in the bathroom. There is good closet space. And the kitchen is a practical design with plenty of cabinet and counter space.<\/p>\n

This cabin plan is 52-feet long. They can make the cabin up to 58-feet long. That’s a lot more space, but will it fit well where we want it? And will it end up looking like a single-wide trailer?<\/p>\n

\nWe are going with a mini-split and tiny instant hot water heater, so this can be open storage.<\/p>\n
