I went to Home Depot to buy a towel rack and came home with a two-story building.<\/p>\n

When I pulled into the parking lot, I saw a clearance tag on the New Day Cabin. We had looked at it frequently. We needed more space for Cliff\u2019s office and the Classic Manor buildings seemed to be the most square footage for the dollar.<\/p>\n

I called Cliff while I went to find someone to help me. He agreed. Go for it! They found a manager for me and he agreed to include moving it to our land and getting the permits signed off, so we could put in electricity. I put it on my Discover card and headed to Planning and Zoning.<\/p>\n

They issued the permits and we were ready to go! A guy came out to look at where we wanted it, out the back, but he said it could not be done. We measured the side of the house and we could just barely squeeze it in.<\/p>\n

The piers are marked. One man is digging around a root to cut it out. The other man is cutting the sidewalk out.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The man measured and marked where the piers should go. There was a tree in the way. It was leaning, so we hired a tree guy to get it out of there without hitting our log cabin.<\/p>\n

We had a sidewalk, which they had to cut.<\/p>\n

Two guys showed up with shovels and sledgehammers to dig the piers. There were big rocks and roots in the way, but they just forced their way down. The inspectors checked that the holes were deep enough and they mixed and poured cement in the holes.<\/p>\n

They let me pick the roof shingle color. I picked the same shingles we have on our roof now. The shingles and some other materials were delivered.<\/p>\n

We weren\u2019t sure how they were going to get the New Day Cabin to our house. I\u2019ve seen them move sheds, but this thing is tall! How will they get under the powerlines?<\/p>\n

The cabin had been completely disassembled.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Then they showed up with the house. It was in pieces. No problem with powerlines.<\/p>\n

They took things off the truck and made piles.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

They took everything off the trailer and stacked it in order. They also brought some extra materials to replace anything that had been damaged when they took the house apart.<\/p>\n

They put the floor back together. They replaced any wood that had not come apart cleanly.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

First the put the floor back together. They made sure it was level. It was. The piers were right.<\/p>\n

The flooring is put down and they are getting the walls into position.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

They nailed the floor down.<\/p>\n

I wondered if a crane was coming to put up the walls.<\/p>\n

No. They did it all by hand. They propped the first wall with 2x4s until the next wall was up and they could nail them together. They leveled as they went.<\/p>\n

Once they got the first floor walls nailed together, they put in the stairs and the second story floor.<\/p>\n
