I googled to see what they are for. This is one way to test for leaks.<\/p>\n

We have water, but it only goes to a faucet in the front yard. This way they can inspect for leaks in the roughed in plumbing lines.<\/p>\n

This is how an air pressure water line test is done.<\/p>\n

All stub-outs are capped<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

They cap all the stub-outs on our pipes.<\/p>\n

They glued a cap to every stub-out with pipe cement.
\nThey can just cut this extra pipe off when they finish installing the plumbing.<\/p>\n

They add pressure gauges. This fitting allows an air compressor to fill the pipes with air pressure.<\/p>\n

Usually they build the pressure up to 80 psi and leave it for 15 minutes.
\nIf the pressure goes down, they have to look for the leak.<\/p>\n

They have left these on for days now.<\/p>\n
