Most houses I have lived in the gutter downspout ended in a concrete pan that directed the water away from the house.<\/p>\n

Our new house will move the rainwater away from the house through buried drain pipe. This is how they put in the downspout drain lines.<\/p>\n

When we dropped by on Monday, they had already come and gone. Some of the pipe was in and more materials were in the garage.<\/p>\n

They had dug trenches and laid pipe from the corners of our house to the gully in back.<\/p>\n

Today they were finishing the last one when we got there.<\/p>\n

We had the utilities marked earlier, so we knew nothing was in the way.<\/p>\n

The trench was a lot wider than it needed to be, since they used the back hoe.<\/p>\n

Then the smoothed the area.<\/p>\n

They accidentally filled back in one of the holes the guys building the porch had dug to reach the pier.<\/p>\n

And there are still some large splits and elbows in the yard and in the garage.<\/p>\n

We found these labels in the yard. This is probably from our pipe or they might be from next door.<\/p>\n

Our neighbor directed his drainpipe onto our property. Cliff fumes about it every time he sees it. I think that it is just not a big enough deal to start a fight with the neighbor about.<\/p>\n

The downspouts are trimmed and buried where they exit into the gully.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The next day they came out and finished the drainpipes.<\/p>\n

They buried the piers for the porches. They had just dug them all out and now they will have to do it again.<\/p>\n

They buried everything and graded over it. The graded more between the driveway and the house to make sure the water will move in the right direction.<\/p>\n
