Today they finished the concrete floor in the garage.<\/p>\n

Earlier they had built the form at the end of the garage and at the side door. Preparing to Pour the Concrete Garage Floor ><\/a><\/p>\n

They did not put in any metal. We used fiber reinforced concrete instead. The fibers can hold the aggregate in place and it\u2019s supposed to make a harder concrete that is less likely to crack.<\/p>\n

They made a brace to hold the post.<\/p>\n

First they put in the steel post. Our hot water heater is going to be in the garage. This way we won\u2019t accidentally run into it with the car. Notice they are using a level. I am a big fan of levels.<\/p>\n

The cement truck showed up right on time.<\/p>\n

They backed the truck up and assembled the chute.<\/p>\n

The truck poured the concrete straight into the garage.<\/p>\n

They rushed to move the cement as it flowed out.<\/p>\n

The cement gushed out and the guys rushed to move it.<\/p>\n

They shoveled cement into the post.<\/p>\n

They took off pieces of the chute as they went.<\/p>\n

The cement truck driver immediately cleaned the pieces of the chute. There is a hose with water right on the cement truck.<\/p>\n

\"Leveling<\/a>

He smoothed the edges to make sure we were up to the line. That tool is a darby.<\/p>\n

Before they started to pour, they had put a post at the right height in the middle of the garage. They made this circle over it.<\/p>\n

Everybody was rushing to move the cement.<\/p>\n
