It is \u201cdesigned to provide a consistent, even surface without any guide or supporting tube.\u201d It vibrates to level the cement. It takes off any high spots and fills any low spots. They pushed it out tilted like in this picture, then pulled it back with it tilted the other way, so that the leading edge was always slightly up. This leveled out the marks left by the screed and filled any small holes. It just took a couple of passes.<\/p>\n<p>Cream, the gravel-free concrete, started to come to the surface.<\/p>\n<p>This all forced the larger aggregate down, leaving the \u201ccream,\u201d a slurry of cement and sand, to fill the surface.<\/p>\n<p>They waited a little while. They cleaned up and the cement truck left.
