They have opened an Ikea store in Jacksonville, Florida. We had a shopping list for the new house, but spent some time wandering through the models getting ideas and inspiration.<\/p>\n

I like that they show a lot of different style kitchens. Most are pretty streamlined, modern, contemporary. But with different cabinet doors the same kitchen looks more traditional.<\/p>\n

This modern streamlined kitchen has a counter-height eating ledge. They added lighting inside the glass front storage.<\/p>\n

The Ikea model kitchens have signs to let you know what is in the kitchen.<\/p>\n

I like the on-the-wall storage.<\/p>\n

Those are RIMFORSA spice containers. They look like test tubes. They fit into the bamboo wood holder that can either hang on the wall or sit on the counter.<\/p>\n

This kitchen is a modern take on a farmhouse kitchen, with a deep apron sink. Ikea has really good prices on their sinks. These are the BODBYN doors. The frame and a beveled panel look more traditional.<\/p>\n

Lights and glass doors on some of the upper cabinets turns the wall into a china cabinet.<\/p>\n

And the rail with hooks adds lots of storage without covering the countertop. This one is the FINTORP rail. It\u2019s been around a long time. I have the FINTORP dishdrainer in the log cabin. It was the only one I could find that was the right size. I really like the rail storage. It\u2019s a great idea to keep the things you need at your fingertips, but you don\u2019t have to move everything to wipe down the counter. The little bucket and what looks like a little planter box are the FINTORP Utensil Holder and Condiment Stand. They are nice and sturdy enameled metal.<\/p>\n

They put orange cabinet doors on the upper cabinets in this kitchen. The doors are interchangeable, so with very little cost or effort, you can update the look on a whim. Or you could just paint them.<\/p>\n
