The gravel at the log cabin was beginning to look sad. Cliff told me to call around and see how much gravel we need and what it is going to cost.<\/p>\n

Sounds like an easy project, but it really wasn\u2019t. After I measured the driveway, I called back the people my daughter got her gravel from. They told us it was going to be around $1500 dollars. I called some other people. They all seemed to think that it is not possible to only put the stone where it\u2019s low.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not a new driveway. The driveway is there. It just needs some more gravel to fill in some low spots.<\/p>\n

Finally I called Hipps. Hipps sells stone. They had a commercial on TV, so I remembered the name. And they are only a few miles away, so we drive past them all the time. I did not know if they also sold gravel, but I gave it a try.<\/p>\n

The lady that answered the phone was super helpful. The delivery charge was less than anyone else, since we are only a little over five miles away. And they could come out the very next day. We figured we would just keep getting trucks of gravel until the driveway was fixed.<\/p>\n

The guy called to tell us he was on his way and showed up not much later. His name is Chad.<\/p>\n

Chad listened to us tell him what we wanted and he did not think it was stupid at all.<\/p>\n

He adjusted the tailgate on the truck with chains to hold it open just a little bit. Then he slowly drove over the driveway, leaving a trail of gravel. He slowed down over the areas we had told him we needed more stone, so that more would fall out.<\/p>\n

It didn\u2019t take long at all. Just a few passes and the driveway is great!<\/p>\n

After the main driveway, we had him put the rest of the gravel in the turn-around spot.<\/p>\n

Cliff had bought a scrape blade for the lawn tractor, but we aren\u2019t going to need it at all.<\/p>\n

And it only cost $261.54 with delivery and sales tax.<\/p>\n
