Cliff told me to call around and see how much gravel we need and what it is going to cost.

Sounds like an easy project, but it really wasn’t. After I measured the driveway, I called back the people my daughter got her gravel from. They told us it was going to be around $1500 dollars. I called some other people. They all seemed to think that it is not possible to only put the stone where it’s low.

It’s not a new driveway. The driveway is there. It just needs some more gravel to fill in some low spots.

Finally I called Hipps. Hipps sells stone. They had a commercial on TV, so I remembered the name. And they are only a few miles away, so we drive past them all the time. I did not know if they also sold gravel, but I gave it a try.

The lady that answered the phone was super helpful. The delivery charge was less than anyone else, since we are only a little over five miles away. And they could come out the very next day. We figured we would just keep getting trucks of gravel until the driveway was fixed.

The guy called to tell us he was on his way and showed up not much later. His name is Chad.

Chad listened to us tell him what we wanted and he did not think it was stupid at all.

Chad adjusted the tailgate on the truck with chains so that it would allow just the right amount of gravel to fall as he drove.

He adjusted the tailgate on the truck with chains to hold it open just a little bit.
