Last summer, some friends of ours were moving and our granddaughter was visiting, so they gave us their above ground swimming pool. We loved it so much, we bought a deeper pool, added some privacy screening, a saltwater system and a ladder to climb in right off the porch.<\/p>\n

It was not a very deep pool, but Summer was not a very tall girl.<\/p>\n

It was just going to be temporary, so we put down a tarp and put the pool on the level part of the driveway in front of the house.<\/p>\n

And we loved it! I did not remember how much fun it is to play in a pool!<\/p>\n

So, at the end of the summer, we bought a deeper pool on clearance. We also bought a salt water system.<\/p>\n

We took down the old pool and leveled the area better. Then we spread sand. A lot of sand. We assembled the new pool and called the water guys to come fill it up.<\/p>\n

We bought a ladder and cut the porch railing so that we could get into the pool right off the front porch.<\/p>\n

We added reed screening.<\/p>\n

Here is a better view of the ladder into the pool.<\/p>\n

Every morning, as soon as it is warm enough, I get in the pool and exercise. I at least put my feet over the edge into the water and kick against the resistance.<\/p>\n

We probably used more salt than we had to, but salt water makes your skin feel really good.
\n(If you drop a phone that is not waterproof into a salt water pool, there is not enough rice in the world to save it.)<\/p>\n

In the winter the pool froze solid.<\/p>\n

One time we had a really hard rain and wind. The floats on the pool overflowed and made it to the brook.<\/p>\n

When we brought Geordie home, his first stop was a jump into the pool.<\/p>\n

The pool is nearly drained. The fence and ladder are gone and the railing is back.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

We drained the pool at the end of 2017 because we are moving into the new house. Cliff put the railing pieces he had cut back in. I sold the pool on Facebook Marketplace. Goodbye pool! (I have figured out where the pool will go at our new house…)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
