We bought the Classic Manor New Day Cabin and finished it inside to make an office and workshop.<\/p>\n

We love it and we wanted the same thing at our new house, but we couldn’t find it.\u00a0 We were just at Home Depot again and picked up the brochure for their sheds.<\/p>\n

Home Depot sells Tuff Shed. And they have a building that looks exactly like the Classic Manor New Day Cabin. We call it a farmhouse. Doesn’t it look like a farmhouse? They call it a Recreational Building.<\/p>\n

Sundance Series TR-1600<\/strong><\/p>\n

This building is way more than just another shed. The TR-1600 boasts the most usable floor space and cubic square feet of any TUFF SHED Sundance Series\u00ae building other than a really large garage. Standard features include 8\u2032 first floor walls, a full second floor, 36\u2033 stairs with railing and baluster, a 3′ x 6’8\u2033 entry door with lockset and boxed eaves on all walls. Add an optional front porch with deck (as shown), and you just may want to spend all your free time in this building.<\/p>\n

Before the Options<\/h2>\n

This is what you get before the options. A box with one door to get into it. Inside it is unfinished, but they give you stairs to get to the second floor.<\/p>\n

Standard features include 8\u2032 first floor walls, a full second floor, 36\u2033 stairs with railing and baluster, a 3′ x 6’8\u2033 entry door with lockset and boxed eaves on all walls.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Everything else is optional.<\/p>\n

Tuff Shed Options and Upgrades<\/h2>\n

Options include a front porch with deck. Huh? Perhaps they consider the roof the porch and the floor of the porch the deck?<\/p>\n

The Tuff Shed brochure lists a lot of available upgrades. Not all upgrades are available on all sheds.<\/p>\n

Any windows at all are options. There are opening windows and non-opening windows in different sizes. You can also add a sky light to let in more light. You can fancy them up with shutters.<\/p>\n

The porch is an option. It can be any size, it doesn’t have to run the whole way. And you can move the door and the porch to any wall. End wall or side wall, whichever works where you are putting it.<\/p>\n

You can add different size and width shelves, a workbench and pegboard.<\/p>\n

There are different doors to choose from, doors with windows, doors with windows above them and double doors.\u00a0 They also have different ramps to get your mower in.<\/p>\n

The website says that most buildings are upgraded. Most people don’t want a box with a door. Shocker.<\/p>\n

Because of our unique process and manufacturing, most Tuff Shed buildings have been upgraded, customized or accessorized by the time they are installed on a customer\u2019s site. In fact, there\u2019s almost nothing that we can\u2019t modify about our products to meet the customer\u2019s needs…<\/p>\n

Tuff Shed Upgrades and Options ><\/a><\/p>\n

Our Classic Manor New Day Cabin has 8 windows that open, double glass doors, the porch, vents on both ends and a roof vent that runs the whole roof. Then we finished it ourselves with insulation, drywall, flooring, power, gas, AC and gas heat, phone lines, coax and ethernet. Later we added under the floor insulation and skirted it with Hardee board.<\/p>\n

The Best Deals on Storage<\/h2>\n

Here are the prices for our area. I broke it down by the square foot of floor space in the second column. That is the width and length times two.<\/p>\n

I didn’t subtract for the stairs. You lose space on both floors for the stairs. There is some storage under the stairs and there is a little space over the stairs, but there is definitely something to subtract.\u00a0 I will go over and measure ours to get an idea and do the math here again.<\/p>\n

I found that the biggest ones are not necessarily the best deal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The best deals are both only 16′ deep. The winner would be the 16′ x 36′ x 21′ building with 1152 square feet of floor space for $18,749.00. That makes it $16.28 per square foot.<\/p>\n

A close second is the 16′ x 32′ x 21′ at $16.82 per square foot. It gives you 1024 of floor space for $17,219.00.<\/p>\n

You might have to use whatever fits best. We have a whole field, so we could put anything.<\/p>\n

The bronze medal goes to an 18′ deep version, the 18′ x 28′ x 21’6″. It gives 1008 square feet for $17,499.00 at $17.36 per square foot.<\/p>\n

The Least Expensive<\/h2>\n

The three that are the least expensive still give you a lot of storage for under $15,000.<\/p>\n

The 16′ x 20′ x 21′ has 640 square feet for $12,629.00 at $19.73 per square foot.<\/p>\n

The second least expensive is just two feet deeper, 18′ x 20′ x 21’6″, 720 square feet of space for $14,029.00 at $19.48 a square foot. This gives you 80 more square feet of space for another $1400. The additional space comes to $17.50 a square foot.<\/p>\n

And the third lowest price is the 16′ x 24′ x 21′ model. It has 768 square feet of space for $14,156.00, $18.43 a square foot.<\/p>\n

18’x 36′ Sundance Series TR-1600 in Texas<\/h2>\n

I found a blog post about one that was built in Texas. They added shutters and a shallow front porch.<\/p>\n

The old saying still stands to be true that everything is bigger in Texas. Standing out against the south Texas sky is a massive 18’x 36′ TR-1600. Painted bright red with a custom 4’x 36′ front porch, it’s safe to stay this Tuff Shed creation is hard to miss.<\/p>\n

Owners David and Lori came to us looking for a large recreational building that could be customized to fit their needs. They weren’t in the market for a tiny home and immediately found that a TR-1600 was exactly what they were looking for. Tony Salinas, La Feria General Manager, was excited to take on a project of this size. “This was our factory’s first TR1600 and we couldn’t be prouder of how it turned out.” David and Lori are pleased with the results and are already looking forward to finishing out the interior. “We’re absolutely thrilled with it.”<\/p>\n
