Did you know you can buy log cabin kits on eBay? That\u2019s where I found Log Cabins for Less. They are out of Greeneville, Tennessee.<\/p>\n

Log Cabins for Less has a few kits listed on eBay at very good prices. My favorite is the Thompson Ridge Log Cabin Kit. They are made in Greenville TN, but they will ship the kit anywhere within 300 miles away. All of the materials fit on one lat bed tractor trailer.<\/p>\n

The kit includes nearly everything you need, but it is not a prefab cabin or one of the kits that comes pre-cut and numbered. You have to have enough building knowledge to cut the logs to fit.<\/p>\n

It doesn\u2019t say on eBay, but the website says that kits come with double hung, double tilt low-e glass windows framed in your choice of vinyl or wood.<\/p>\n

Roof package: 6 x 6 support posts, 4 x 12 ridge beams, 4 x 8 rafters, 4 x 8 collar ties and 2 x 6 tongue and groove decking<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The kit includes 6 x 12 chink logs with dovetail corners for the walls and the logs for the roof.<\/p>\n

You can upgrade hand hewn logs. I think this is a photo of the hand hewn logs.\u00a0 I\u2019m sure they can be more specific, if you ask them.<\/p>\n

The cabin has a covered front porch and a deck on the back.<\/p>\n

The Porch package includes 6 x 6 support posts, 4 x 8 girder beams, 4 x 6 rafters and 2 x 6 tongue and groove decking.<\/p>\n

The kit uses 2 x 12 chink log siding for gable ends and sill band.<\/p>\n

My log cabin has the same thing. It looks just like the rest of the logs, but it is put on as siding in this area.<\/p>\n

Here is the floor plan. It has a total of 1251 square feet, 936 square feet downstairs with a 315 square foot loft.<\/p>\n

There are two bedrooms downstairs. It looks like they are both over 12\u2019 wide, wide enough for a king sized bed. The master bedroom has a good sized closet with double bifold doors.<\/p>\n

The bath includes space for a washer and dryer. I like that they put it behind doors! More storage, less clutter.<\/p>\n

Upstairs there is another bathroom and what they call an office. The plan has doors so that you can easily reach the storage in the eaves.<\/p>\n

They put double sliding barn doors to give the loft privacy.<\/p>\n

This photo demonstrates how you can tuck six people into the office sleeping area. If you are going to use this log cabin as a Vacation Rental, just think how many you can say it sleeps!<\/p>\n
