I was sitting on the porch, watching as the city dredged the brook that runs along the side of our land when everybody went into panic mode. I went down to see what was going on and they had pulled up a piece of pipe.<\/p>\n

It was a large chunk of terracotta pipe and it looked really old. I couldn\u2019t believe it could actually be part of any current city infrastructure, but they made sure.<\/p>\n

Within 20 minutes, this van showed up.<\/p>\n

They had a Pipe Inspection Surveillance Crawler Robot<\/p>\n

There are different wheels for different surfaces. So, first they looked inside the pipe to see what they had, then they put the right wheels on.<\/p>\n

Some wheels fit into smaller pipes. Some have more clearance. Some also push along the sides of the pipes. Some have very little tread so that the camera vibrates less. Some have a lot of tread, where they need better grip.<\/p>\n
