Yardistry recommends finding out your local building and city codes, ordinances, neighborhood covenants and height restrictions before you start.<\/p>\n
The instructions call for basic tools that we already have.<\/p>\n
I compared the instructions for the different sizes and they are all pretty similar. You will need a second stepladder and more help for the larger pavilions.<\/p>\n

They recommend Safety Glasses, Gloves and a Hardhat. They also tell you to pre-drill a pilot hold before you put in a screw or bolt so the wood won\u2019t split.<\/p>\n
The instructions come with a parts identification list with diagrams so you can recognize each piece.\u00a0 The next page lists all the hardware with a count, diagrams and measurements. Before you begin, make sure that you have everything listed.<\/p>\n
Yardistry includes Hex and Robertson drivers and a 1\/8″ drill bit.<\/p>\n
Inventory all your hardware, wood and accessories, referencing the parts identification sheets. This will assist you with your assembly. Each step indicates which bolts and\/or screws you will need for assembly, as well as any flat washers, lock washers, t-nuts or lock nuts. There is a phone number and email address to contact Yardistry to have any part missing sent directly to you.<\/p>\n

It is \u201ccritically important\u201d that the structures are put up on \u201csquare, solid and level footings, pad or deck.\u201d<\/p>\nThe pavilion can be anchored to a wood deck or a concrete patio<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
The pergola or pavilion can be put onto a new or existing wood or concrete surface.<\/p>\nAnchor the pavilion to concrete footers that are the depth your local area building code recommends<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
Since there is nothing already where we would put ours, it recommends putting in concrete footers to anchor to.<\/p>\nPost mounts are included You provide the anchoring hardware to secure your pavilion to concrete or wood<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
The kits include the post mounts, but not the anchoring hardware.<\/p>\nCorner bracket to secure the smallest pavilions<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
We supply Post Mounts with this structure which gives you the flexibility to permanently install your structure to a pre-existing or new wood or concrete surface.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The hardware to attach the Post Mount to the structure is included.<\/li>\n
The hardware to mount the structure permanently will need to be purchased separately at your local hardware store.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Each kit comes with the plans showing exactly where to place the posts.<\/p>\n
The instructions say that ideally the pavilion is assembled by four people. In another place it says you will need an adult to assist you. Each step has a key showing how many people you may need to help you.<\/p>\nYou need help attaching the roof<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
Anchoring the frame and attaching the roof calls for a little help from your friends.<\/p>\n
Attach Roof Panels to Frame<\/strong><\/p>\n
With all four assemblers place one Roof Panel Assembly with Roof to Beam Brackets just in front of the Post<\/p>\n
Assemblies then raise it up so the middle Roof to Beam Bracket is lined up with the center mark. (fig. 11.1 and 11.2)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
The parts of the instructions that call for help let you know ahead of time.<\/p>\nA steel cable creates tension on the largest pavilions<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
Larger kits include a steel cable to keep enough tension to hold the building securely together.<\/p>\n
The instructions have a lot of steps, but they are all explained clearly and the illustrations are detailed. There are videos, too, to help show how the outdoor room kit is put together.<\/p>\n
