Edits to Schumacher Homes Cross Creek

So, after looking at a lot of modulars and doing the numbers, we found we just couldn’t get what we want.

We are looking at the Cross Creek plan from Schumacher Homes: www.schumacherhomes.com/house-plans/car/cross-creek/

We thought modular would be much less expensive.

But after we added the garage and the grading, it was much less of a good deal. And you have way fewer options.

We have built before and things always cost way more than they say, so we just didn’t want to get into that again. And we just don’t have the time and skills to do what we really want this time by ourselves.

Check out Schumacher Homes’ website. They give absolute up-front costs.
If you remove things, it costs even less. (Unlike modulars, where if there is any credit at all, it is minuscule.)

Also, Schumacher Homes lets you tour their homes while they are under construction. (Not just any time, during open-houses.) So, you can see what the quality is. It’s good. Normal. What you’d expect. (Or what you hope you should be able to expect.)

The modular idea is cool. The whole origami unfold thing is a great idea.
But we decided we would rather have what we want than have it fast.

So… Watch this space! We will post more photos as we get the plan the way we want and start construction!
