Land at the Beach for as Little as $16,000

How much would it cost to buy a small lot near the beach?

We looked at some surprisingly low priced homes near the beach. But, you would own the home, not the land it is on. Right now the monthly lot rent is $690 a month. Still, the total is less than most rent, at least around here. And you can do what you want. And have pets.

How much would it cost to buy a land? Something small, just big enough for one of these little single wide mobile homes or a one module modular home?

We found a lot not far away for $16,000. We gotta go see that!

We had some trouble finding it. The address is Avenue O, Ormond Beach, FL. It would be on Avenue O if Avenue O were finished. It is at the end of nearby Hope Drive.

If you are trying to find the lot, put 1705 Hope Dr into your GPS. The lot is right next door in those woods.

There are flags marking where you could build. It is only big enough to put something small. And you’d have a lot of yard leftover where you can’t build because it is protected wetland.

It looks like the Wetlands go all the way to Avenue O.

BUT this is the lot right next to it.

The green thing is Lift Station #51, 1700 Hope Dr.

A lift station pumps flood water and waste water. At least while we were there, it was noisy.  Not deafening, but noisy. I don’t know if it pumps nonstop. The green pipes and concrete pad on the right are a groundwater monitoring well, for observing water levels.

There is a canal on the far right. It borders the lot with the pumping station, not the lot that is for sale.
