1 Bed 1 Bath Custom Container House

I’m sharing a container house company someone brought to my attention. This container house was built by DM Custom Cabins. They sell DIY 8′ x 40′ shipping containers with holes cut for a door and windows for $8,000. For $11,000, they will frame out the interior and install windows and a door. Adding the rough electric brings the price up to $14,000. You can add an off-grid solar package, insulation, plumbing and custom cabinetry.

DM Custom Cabins
We are now offering DIY models starting at $8,000 and going up from there. I’ve included a price list below for the most common builds but if what you want isn’t listed send me a message and I can give you a price
Bare bones DIY: we cut out the windows and door weld the frames and install windows and door (2 windows 1 door) $8,000
Framed: everything above plus we frame out the interior including an additional window in the open end $11,000
Wired: everything listed above plus all your rough wiring is done this includes boxes, wire, and a panel (in your choice of 50amp with plug and cord, 100 amp, or 200 amp $14,000 (additional cost for off-grid)
Insulation: we only use close cell foam $3,500

11- 260w solar panels
The solar is totally off-grid.

11- 260w solar panels
2-10kw lithium batteries
6kw power inverter
It has run independently before it was finished it currently is running A/C at 72° and a refrigerator, battery never dips below 80%.

16 liter per minute on demand water heater
Moving: The company that brought it out said they can move it their price is $4.50 per mile I do not control that, if you know someone who can do it cheaper that’s great use them.
Plumbing: All drain lines are stubbed out underneath but are not connected to each other (so it can be loaded on a trailer. You will need to connect together and run to septic or sewer. All supply lines are internal (to protect from freezing) and are stubbed out to a single point for connection.
Certificates: this unit has no certification. As far as I can find there is no way to certify a container cabin. As far as wind loads go it’s a shipping container it is made to cross the ocean through storms and rough seas.
Permitting: that is specific to your area. I don’t know whether it’s allowed in your area or not you will need to check. Some areas it’s welcome, some areas no way, and in others you can put in as an aux structure (man cave, she shed, etc.)
Cabinetry: All cabinetry is custom there is no MDF used all cabinets are made from cabinet grade plywood. This unit has plywood doors and face frames but if you’re ordering one built to your specifications doors and face frames can be hardwood with additional cost.
